However, some of the main causes include:<\/p><ul><li>Fungi<\/li><li>Parasites<\/li><li>Viruses<\/li><li>Trauma<\/li><li>Surgical procedures<\/li><li>Microbes \u2013 bacteria<\/li><li>Certain systemic diseases or syndromes, such as tuberculosis, syphilis, rheumatoid arthritis, herpes zoster, HIV infection, etc.<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-5323\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Symptoms<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-5323\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-5323\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p>Iridocyclitis can be either acute or chronic, and often both eyes are affected.<\/p><p>Symptoms vary depending on the severity of the condition:<\/p><ul><li>Photophobia (light sensitivity)<\/li><li>Redness (may be more pronounced around the iris)<\/li><li>Tearing<\/li><li>Pain<\/li><li>Blurred vision<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"4\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-5324\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Complications<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-5324\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"4\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-5324\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><ul><li>Macular edema: Patients may experience reduced visual acuity due to swelling of the macula.<\/li><li>Increased intraocular pressure: This can occur due to increased resistance to aqueous humor outflow from the anterior chamber.<\/li><li>Cataract: Cataracts may develop due to frequent acute episodes of iridocyclitis or as a complication of long-term use of steroid eye drops.<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"5\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-5325\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Diagnosis<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-5325\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"5\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-5325\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p>Accurate diagnosis of anterior uveitis requires a series of safe and reliable examinations:<\/p><ul><li>Slit-lamp biomicroscopy: The doctor can diagnose the inflammation and assess its severity.<\/li><li>Visual acuity measurement: To evaluate the patient\u2019s vision. Some patients with iridocyclitis may not show any decrease in visual acuity.<\/li><li>Intraocular pressure measurement<\/li><li>Blood tests, radiological, and biochemical exams: Performed when a systemic disease or chronic health issue may underlie the iridocyclitis.<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"6\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-5326\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Treatment<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-5326\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"6\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-5326\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p>Treatment depends on the type, severity, and patient\u2019s condition.
