Andreas Karidis is an ophthalmic surgeon specializing in glaucoma.
He served as Head of the Glaucoma Department at Huddersfield Hospital, where he performed a large number of glaucoma and anterior segment surgeries.
During his five-year career abroad, he gained extensive experience in complex and selected cases, as well as in cataract surgery.

Yes! To ensure smooth and efficient operation, Eye Center uses an appointment scheduling system. Typically, the waiting time at the clinic before your examination is around 15 minutes. However, as in all healthcare facilities, emergency cases are given priority, which may slightly delay your scheduled appointment.
For your first visit, it is recommended to follow these guidelines:
If your visit involves a refractive examination (eye prescription check), you should avoid wearing contact lenses for the 48 hours prior to your appointment.
It is also advisable to bring your current treatments (any medications you are taking), your glasses, and your health record.
Upon arrival at our clinic, the receptionist will complete your personal details and record your medical and medication history. The first appointment usually takes longer, approximately 30–40 minutes, to fully assess and discuss your concerns.
It is advisable not to drive afterward, as dilating eye drops may be used, temporarily affecting your visual acuity for several hours.
There is no direct agreement with health insurance funds. However, at Eye Center, prescriptions for glasses and medications can be issued for EOPYY (National Organization for Health Care Services)-affiliated patients, and the clinic also handles the issuance or renewal of driver’s licenses.
Our facility is equipped with an elevator and a wheelchair ramp, providing relatively easy access. If you are a wheelchair user, please ask the clinic’s receptionist for accessibility information.
Before the examination, patients should NOT wear contact lenses for at least 2–3 days. Users of rigid contact lenses should refrain from wearing them for a longer period, typically 10–14 days.
